Hazardous Materials / Waste Management Permitting & Compliance
Beacon West personnel perform ongoing hazardous materials and hazardous waste management compliance support at the Ellwood Onshore Facility, Platform Holly, the Carpinteria Plant, and other onshore and offshore facilities. This includes compliance with the Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) - California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), a statewide web-based system. Beacon West assists with compliance reporting regarding facility-specific hazardous materials business plans, chemical inventories, underground and aboveground storage tanks, and hazardous waste generation. Beacon West personnel conduct ongoing waste management compliance to property handle and dispose of operations non-hazardous, recyclable, universal and hazardous wastes, and offsite transportation and disposal of waste streams).Tasks include facility-specific waste management programs, waste identification, characterization and profile preparation, non-hazardous waste recycling and disposal, hazardous waste accumulation and disposal (preparation of waste manifests, weekly hazardous waste inspections, waste minimization and recycling, preparedness, prevention, contingency, and emergency procedures, hazardous waste training) and agency-required waste reporting.
Operations/Demolition Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Waste Management
Beacon West personnel conduct ongoing waste management compliance to property handle and dispose of operations non-hazardous, recyclable, universal and hazardous wastes, and offsite transportation and disposal of waste streams generated at the Ellwood Onshore Facility, Platform Holly, the Carpinteria Plant, and other onshore and offshore facilities in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) California Integrated Waste Management Act (CIWMA), California Hazardous Waste Control Law (CHWCL), California Code of Regulations (Title 22) and United States Coast Guard implementation of MARPOL 73/78. Tasks include preparation of facility-specific waste management programs, waste identification, characterization and profile preparation, non-hazardous waste recycling and disposal, hazardous waste accumulation and disposal (preparation of waste manifests, weekly hazardous waste inspections, waste minimization and recycling, preparedness, prevention, contingency, and emergency procedures, hazardous waste training) and agency-required waste reporting.
