Goleta Water District - Corona Del Mar Reservoir THM Project

Beacon West personnel performed electrical and instrumentation (E&I) engineering design and E&I construction observation services for this reservoir trihalomethanes (THM) removal and booster pump facility. The project included a new electric service switchboard, new 10-section motor control center (MCC) with control panel, incorporation of owner-provided variable frequency drives (VFDs) for booster and blending pumps and THM removal equipment. The District required the ability to install future aeration sprayers, mixers, and blowers in the reservoir. A cable tray system was designed to provide easy expansion capability for the cables for the future equipment. Back-up power sources were provided by portable generator receptacles and an interconnection the main plant’s standby generator. Beacon West also provided E&I construction monitoring and start-up assistance for the project.
