Beacon West Energy Group, LLC, along with its contractors Marine Project Management, Inc. and Aqueos Corporation, recently completed a major inspection and maintenance program of two offshore platforms in the Santa Barbara Channel. The team successfully completed over 450 dives, 8000 worker-hours, and over 800 hours of in-water time without incident. The jacket legs, boat landings, cross members, and conductors, were cleaned to facilitate a comprehensive Level III/IV inspection in accordance with API and federal regulations. The inspection covered visual assessments, flooded member detection, and magnetic particle weld inspections. The divers also examined cathodic protection system, underwater boat landings, barge bumpers, seabed scour, pipeline risers and power cable connections, and conductor bay hangars making some unique repairs as required.

Despite their 55-year age, the platforms were found to be in very good condition—a testament to the ongoing effectiveness of the cathodic protection corrosion prevention program managed by Beacon West, which continues to protect these structures as they transition toward decommissioning.
